Southwest Waterfront

When PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette began its project to develop the Southwest Waterfront along the Washington Channel in Washington, DC, they chose AMT to perform the surveying and civil engineering for the $1.5 billion project.

Project Details:

The new development will transform more than 26 acres of land and 25 acres of marina near the heart of DC into a world-class mixed-use waterfront destination, attracting visitors to plazas, parks, retail, hotels and a marina.

AMT researched property records, provided ALTA surveys, mapped existing utilities, performed a bathometric survey of the Washington Channel, and assembled base mapping.  We performed preliminary engineering studies as part of the initial project planning.  We reviewed existing infrastructure, determined required capacities, and coordinated with various DC agencies to establish required improvements.

As the development team prepared for the initial zoning submissions, AMT coordinated closely with other disciplines to develop schematic civil site plans, utility plans, storm water management concept plans, and roadway improvement plans to support the rezoning application.

AMT recently completed construction documents for the first of many phases of development; a preliminary utility relocation construction package that will prepare the site for the exciting transformation to the southwest waterfront community.  For more project information, click here and here.
