Baltimore County Field Upgrades

Baltimore County contracted with AMT to convert six area athletic fields to artificial surfaces. The fields were designed to be used for play in a number of different sports and be used for high school and municipal league play among other uses.

Project Details:

AMT was contracted by Baltimore County to convert six area athletic fields to artificial surfaces to reduce their long-term maintenance costs and increase the density of play without sacrificing playability of the fields. On each field, which included two high schools, three regional parks and Dundalk Community College, AMT worked with the County on the Gmax testing to find the correct balance between safety and performance and created a retrofit design with the in-fill turf that used existing infrastructure to the extent possible while addressing drainage, ADA access, and maintenance. AMT designed, permitted and constructed all six fields in less than one year.

Project locations included:

  • Landsdowne High School
  • Hereford High School
  • Reisterstown Regional Park
