If you check out our news section, you’ll see that AMT is moving our headquarters office. You’ll also see that we’re staying in Rockville, Maryland. So it seemed apropos to start a new series in the blog on the places AMT works with Rockville.
Rockville is the county seat of Montgomery County, Maryland in the heart of the Baltimore-Washington metro region with 61,000 residents (as of the 2010 census). The city has built a popular town center featuring a library, shops, restaurants and a town square with a stage for summer concerts and ice rink in the winter—there is always something going on. The city is situated perfectly, with Metrorail and bus access to DC and within an easy drive to mountains, hiking, biking, lakes, rivers and the Chesapeake Bay.
The new office is located along the I-270 Technology Corridor with a number of software and biotech companies. The neighborhood is a walkable area called King Farm with shops, restaurants and housing. It is also near Rockville Pike which is the major thoroughfare that bisects the city and runs through Bethesda on its way downtown. A short drive down Rockville Pike takes you to Strathmore Music Hall, a gorgeous facility for symphonies, ballet and theater. We were honored to do the site design on such a cool venue and to have worked on numerous other projects in town.
The city has a rich history and a lot to offer. It’s why we stayed.
