Acorn Hill is a one-acre children’s natural play area at Robert E. Lee Park in Baltimore County, Maryland. AMT provided civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental and graphic support services for the playground, which overlooks Lake Roland. It includes an outdoor theater, trails, and active play features such as climbing and swinging equipment. The play stations were designed to reflect the history of park and help children develop physical skills using natural materials.
AMT’s services for this project included site planning, environmental site design, stormwater management, survey, permitting, forest conservation, construction documents, specifications, and construction administration support.
The construction of the park including site work, stormwater management, utilities and paving was handled internally by Baltimore County Property Management. AMT provided construction administration services including construction stakeout and inspection of the stormwater management facilities.
