Structural Engineering

Our Team designs new, and repairs to bridges and underpasses (auto, pedestrian and rail), culverts, retaining walls and noise barriers and any other structural elements involved in transportation construction. Our staff includes structural engineers with PhDs. It also includes one of the rising stars in structural engineering according to Civil and Structural Engineering magazine. We are experienced in bridge design including steel and concrete bridges, multi-span bridges, continuous, and jointless bridges. Our work starts with foundations, in the form of spread footings, pilings and drilled shafts. Our superstructure experience contains prestressed concrete beams, steel plate girders, and post-tensioned box beams. We have expertise in accelerated bridge construction that cuts both the duration and traffic impacts during construction. In accelerated construction we utilize prefabricated bridge elements, along with nighttime and weekend construction to achieve these benefits.

We follow the latest edition of the AASHTO Load and Resistance Factor Design Code, for bridge and transportation structures. When we are designing for individual states, we follow that state’s modifications to the code. We evaluate existing structure for unusual loading and permit acquisition from state agencies.
