Drainage Improvement Plans
All land disturbing activities are required to provide measures for erosion and sediment control, and many also require stormwater management plans to control water quantity and quality of the site runoff. For this, AMT has the ability to prepare everything from minor erosion control plans to complex, multi-phase drainage improvement plans for flood mitigation, stream restoration and regulated dam rehabilitation plans, as well as green infrastructure and BMP retrofit plans for highways, waterway crossings, commercial and residential site plans, institutional needs, and a variety of other land uses.
The erosion control plans will include all required plan views, details, standard notes, sequencing, and temporary/final stabilization measures; and be in accordance with the local ordinances, standards and specifications for Erosion and Sediment Control and related guidance documents. Controls during construction also need to meet the NPDES regulations for TMDL requirements including any turbidity requirements from the site. Designs often include a Stormwater Pollution and Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for environmental controls and assistance with the NPDES Construction General Permit (CGP) requirements and permitting for our projects.
The stormwater management plans include new development and redevelopment projects with increased runoff to be detained and managed through a choice of BMP’s. BMP plans include details for the construction drawings tied to the modeling of stage-storage-discharge relationships for stormwater management controls, using hydrologic and hydraulic routing software appropriate to the site conditions. Water quality calculations will inform pollutant removal benefits, as well as regulatory compliance.
AMT has the ability to prepare complex, multi-phased, drainage improvement plans for flood mitigation, stream restoration and regulated dam rehabilitation plans, as well as green infrastructure and BMP plans for proposed land disturbing activities.
