H. Carl Moultrie Courthouse C Street Addition Wins ENR MidAtlantic Merit Award

The H. Carl Moultrie Courthouse C Street project in Washington, D.C. was recently honored with an Engineering News-Record MidAtlantic Award of Merit 2024 in the Government/Public Building category. The award recognizes the project’s dedication to innovation, safety, and sustainability. The selection was based on criteria such as teamwork, best practices, quality of execution, community impact, and the ability to overcome challenges while making a positive impact on the region’s development.

The project involved expanding the courthouse in a tight urban space surrounded by busy streets and neighboring government buildings. Careful planning was essential to minimize disruptions to both courthouse operations and the surrounding community. The addition successfully blended historical preservation with modern upgrades, providing much-needed enhancements to the facility.
