Walnut Solar Part I and Part II – Inspection, Plan Review, and Staff Augmentation Services
King and Queen County, Virginia
AMT supports King and Queen County with certified plan review and inspection services for the ongoing development of the Walnut Solar project, a large-scale, multi-phase solar energy facility expected to complete construction by 2027. Under this contract, AMT has been assisting the County ahead of planned large-scale solar development projects to assess potential bonding requirements, the potential costs of inspection, and engineering support for the County during the construction process. AMT serves as an extension of County staff, coordinating with the County Administrator, County technical staff, Virginia DEQ, and the developer team to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain site control throughout construction.
King and Queen County manages its own Erosion and Sediment Control program in compliance with the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control regulations. AMT assists the County in navigating the nuances of DEQ programmatic overlap, as DEQ manages the stormwater management program.
