On-Call Stormwater and Environmental Management

AMT serves as an on-call consultant for the City of Virginia Beach via the Annual Service Contract for Stormwater and Environmental Services. Our team provides a wide variety of engineering, surveying, inspection, project management, staff augmentation services including researching and investigating existing site conditions, feasibility studies, developing and updating stormwater models, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, design of drainage systems, cost estimating, preparing grant applications, and providing construction management services as well as VESMP support.
Active task orders include the following:
Engineering Support for Erosion and Stormwater Management Program: AMT provides engineering staff support for the Public Works division to assist with ensuring compliance with the MS4 permit, implementation of the Stormwater Utility Fee Adjustment Program, and project delivery coordination in the Flood Protection Program, Transportation Program, Water Quality Program, and Coastal Program.
Preliminary Engineering Designs for Indian Lakes Pond and Charlestown Lakes South Pond: AMT developed preliminary project design for Stormwater Management Facilities (SWMF) to be constructed at two locations to improve water quality and accomplish Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) goals for Bacteria and Phosphorous reductions in the North Landing Rivers Watershed.
Capital Improvements Project Stormwater Compliance Review Services: AMT helps reviewing Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects for stormwater management and erosion & sediment control compliance with Virginia DEQ requirements.
Great Neck Park and CBF Brock Center Shoreline Stabilization: AMT, along with its subconsultants, provide engineering services for preliminary review, evaluation, and design of two sites for potential shoreline restoration projects at Great Neck Park and The Brock Center. Services include background data collection and review, concept design layout, calculations, and evaluation.
Sunstream Park BMP Retrofit: AMT designs improvements to the Sunstream Park neighborhood stormwater wet pond to meet the requirements of a Virginia DEQ level 2 wet pond to provide additional water quality treatment in accordance with the OWNER’s local Phosphorous Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Action Plan. This project will include construction of a new forebay, outfall improvements, design and sizing of manufactured treatment device, and a wetland cell using sheeting within the existing wet pond.
Princess Anne Athletic Complex Wet Swales: AMT provides engineering design services to develop five wet swales near parking lots at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex, from preliminary engineering through final construction bid documents. This includes topographic and utility surveys, test pitting, public involvement, and coordination for environmental permitting and easements.
