AMT is proud to celebrate the University of Maryland (UMD) Colvin Institute of Real Estate Development team for winning the NAIOP 2026 Capital Challenge, a highly regarded competition that recognizes innovation, collaboration, and excellence in real estate development.

This well‑deserved achievement reflects the UMD team’s dedication, creativity, and strong understanding of the complex factors that shape successful real estate projects. The Capital Challenge provides students with an opportunity to apply real‑world development, financial, and planning concepts in a competitive, industry‑focused setting, and the 2026 UMD team rose to the challenge with an impressive performance.

AMT was honored to support this year’s team through the involvement of AMT LLC engineers Joseph Sandor, PE;  Jaime Alvarez, PE; and Marcus Czulewicz. Their time, technical expertise, and mentorship helped guide students throughout the process, reinforcing the value of industry and academic collaboration. By sharing real‑world insights and professional experience, AMT’s engineers played an important role in supporting the team’s success.
