Breezewood Drive BMP Retrofit (Citywide Water Resources Engineering)
Lynchburg, Virginia
AMT initially completed an engineering study of a malfunctioning bioretention basin with high groundwater and other maintenance concerns. An analysis report along with three conceptual plan options were developed for comparison. The result of the study was to proceed with a BMP retrofit to convert the bioretention to a wet pond to improve water quality performance and reduce maintenance concerns. As a continuation of the study, AMT prepared as-built surveys, engineering design report, construction and permitting documentations for the wet pond design that included upgrading the forebay, aquatic and maintenance benches, pond aeration, and modifications to the existing outlet structure. The pond’s design has been approved by the City and has proceeded into the Bid and Construction Phase. During the construction phase, AMT will be assisting with RFI’s, submittals, pay application review, record drawings, and close out.
