AMT has provided on-call services to the Stormwater Planning Division’s Watershed Projects Implementation Branch for a variety of BMP retrofits, stream restoration projects, regulated dams, and related drainage and stormwater management project needs through basic ordering agreements (BOA’s). BMP retrofits for this contract have required field surveying, utility and easement mapping, easement plats, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, water quality improvement studies, engineering design plans, environmental studies and permits, geotechnical investigations, technical specifications, construction cost estimates, bid and construction phase services, including construction inspections. BMP Retrofit designs by AMT have included the following features and benefits:
- Removal of Concrete, Low-Flow Channels
- Invasive Species Management / Tree Mitigation Plans
- Modification or Replacement of Outlet Structures / Hydraulic Optimization
- Meandering Flow Paths (High and Low Marsh Areas / Wetland Benches)
- Conservation and Shoreline Plantings (Naturalization Plans / Habitat Establishment)
- Sediment Forebays / Imbricated Rock Cascades & Step-Pool Designs
- Infiltration Features / Sand and Bed Material Gradations for Groundwater Recharge
- Micro-Pools, Plunge Pools, and Outfall Stabilization Measures
- Embankment Repairs / Graded Filter Drains and Foundation Drains
- Storm Drainage Modifications / Public Utility Adjustments
- Maintenance & Access Improvements (including Staging Areas)
- Environmental Learning Exhibits / Outdoor Classroom Features
AMT has also worked on more than three (3) miles of Stream Assessment, Restoration and Enhancement Projects with H&H analyses, floodplain studies and permit actions for Waters of the United States (WoUS) These projects include a dredging plan for the golf course lake at Dogue Creek, and stream restoration designs for Dogue Creek, Danbury Forest, Paul Springs Branch, and several others.
