As part of the corridor improvements for MD 4, AMT conducted multiple traffic studies and design services for the roadway widening and grade separation of MD 4/Suitland Parkway. The project included the design of a diamond interchange, MD 4 mainline widening and reconstruction, new service road design, and intersection improvements. AMT provided planning, preliminary and final design, and construction phase services including: Crash Analysis & Safety ; Corridor and Intersection Analysis/Capacity Analysis and Congestion Mitigation; Developer Plan and TIS Analysis Review/Signal Warrant Studies; Lightning Analysis; Street Lights; and Maintenance of Traffic Alternatives Analysis (MOTAA).
AMT staff coordinated with FAA to confirm acceptable pole heights; modification to design to use LED roadway luminaires; long term temporary signal design given complex MOT phasing and interconnect design plans (MOT/Ultimate).
