Rockville Library
Rockville, Maryland
Now a civic focal point of Rockville’s Town Center, the Rockville Library is a welcome distinction from surrounding rectilinear buildings. Before it could be construction, AMT had the opportunity to provide surveying and civil engineering design for the project. Our work also included utility relocation and extensions.
AMT provided comprehensive surveying and civil engineering services for the Rockville Library, a 97,000 square-foot mixed building that includes the library, a restaurant, administrative offices and the adjacent parking garage. The library anchors Rockville’s Town Center off of Route 355, the main thoroughfare through town. It features undulating walls and a brick paved roadway between the building and the garage.
AMT performed the topographic surveying, utility relocation and extensions, and stormwater management. We developed the civil aspects of the project including site and civil design, construction documents and construction administration. We worked in concert with construction of other edifices on the square.
The result is a beautiful cornerstone of the town square that is modern and efficient and that residents can appreciate when they gather in the town center for concerts, ice skating and festivals.
