Bike / Pedestrian & Multi-modal
AMT’s design work for pedestrian and bicyclist elements is integral to our roadway project work, and our engineers are well-versed in the associated design considerations and safety concerns. AMT is also a regionally recognized leader in planning and designing recreational trails and rails-to-trails projects.
Almost every transportation project must consider pedestrians and bicyclists in the early phases of planning and design. Each project is unique and brings its own challenges, including right-of-way limitations and capacity issues. From designing pedestrian crossings to multi-use trails, and from signaling to arrows, we use Complete Streets policies to help you design context-sensitive solutions that take all types of non-motorized users into consideration. We are well versed in the most current federal and AASHTO design standards and guidelines for ADA compliance.
