The Fields at RFK Campus Wins Honor Award Through ACEC/MW

Washington, DC – Carlos Ostria, PE, Jerry Kavadias, PE, LEED AP, Steven Torgerson, RLA, and Diana Alexander represented AMT at the ACEC/MW 2019 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala on December 4th. The gala, held at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA, presented awards to firms whose projects showcased innovation and excellence within engineering and design. AMT served as a Bronze sponsor for the event, during which the annual Toys for Tots Gift Collection also took place courtesy of the United States Marine Corps.
The Fields at RFK Campus won an Honor Award through ACEC/MW, recognition that the organization states “showcases why engineering is such an integral part of our society and a foundational building block for our future.” In partnership with Events DC and Brailsford & Dunlavey, Inc., AMT completed master planning and design for the project that transformed 27 acres of parking lot at the Robert F. Kennedy Stadium into recreational space. The site, which opened to the community in June 2019, features a playground, three multi-use turf fields, walking and biking paths, a central plaza, a celebration pavilion, and much more. The Fields at RFK Campus caters to a diverse range of users including sporting teams, families, festival-goers, and District visitors.
