Steve Brown brings NEPA/Environmental expertise to AMT’s Raleigh office

AMT is pleased to welcome Steve L. Brown, P.E. to its Raleigh, North Carolina office as a senior project manager and National Environmental Policy Act/environmental lead.

Brown joins AMT from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where he was a project planning engineer and NEPA practitioner for more than eight years. He brings with him 22 years of experience in environmental and transportation management in the consulting, contracting and state government service arenas.

An experienced leader in transportation project planning and environmental analysis, Brown has worked on projects for NCDOT such as the Glenwood Avenue and US 70 Improvements, the US 19 Improvement Project, and the US 1 Rockingham Bypass.

AMT President Michael Wiercinski noted the span of Brown’s experience, “Steve’s unique experience fits well with what is needed in transportation and environmental leadership. Environmental issues continue to gain importance as part of the overall transportation process. We’re happy to have someone with his outstanding ability to grow our practice in North Carolina and serve as a regional resource to our transportation teams.”

He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering from North Carolina State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, an OSHA Certified Hazardous Waste Operator (HAZWOPER), and a member of numerous environmental and transportation professional organizations.
